The Slade Baker Memorial Crawfish Cook-Off, a two-day event featuring live music, cold drinks and all you can eat crawfish, will be held this weekend in downtown Paris at South Main Iron.
The event, which honors the life of former Paris Firefighter Slade Baker, raises proceeds for local scholarship recipients entering the fire academy, and supports other families in need.
Baker was killed in an auto accident in 2019 but his legacy of laughter, loyalty, and heart lives on through the Slade Baker Memorial Fund which has raised $63,916 since 2022.
A pre-party will be held on May 2 with fajitas and margaritas and live music by the Stoney Musgrove Band. Cook-off teams will also check-in on May 2. Teams will face-off for the championship title trophy and a cash prize.
The main event on May 3 kicks-off at 10 a.m. with appetizers followed by crawfish being served at 11 a.m., a live auction at 3 p.m. and awards ceremony at 3:30 p.m.
Live music on the Michelob Ultra stage starts at 10:30 a.m. with Montgomery Moore followed by Common Ground at 1 p.m.
Ticket holders will receive an all-access wristband to the crawfish courtyard with unlimited crawfish and appetizers (while supplies last).
